What got you into making art ? 

I have always been interested in creative pursuits and i have a  bachelor’s degree in fine arts. However, i’ve been creating with thrifted and discarded item for the last 13 years or so.

 

What inspires you ? 

Inspiration can strike anytime, anywhere. While shopping in a thrift store or watching clouds or trees. 

 

Favourite smells ?

 Fresh mown grass, wood smoke from a fireplace.

 

Coffee or Tea ? 

Both but definitely a coffee preference.

 

Do I have a favourite piece of my own ? 

I do. Right now, it’s a bird called “Rowena”. Until something else replaces her…!

 

Best advice received ? 

“When you do something, something good can happen and sometimes, something bad does. But if you do nothing then nothing happens.”

 

Favorite Colour ? 

Blues mostly but i love all colours.

 

What is the connective force behind art ? 

I think art connects us through our desire to share our emotions, imagination, experiences, and dreams. I also think we create in the hope that some small part of us will endure after we’re gone. Art is our way of leaving a little of ourselves behind.

 

Your chosen superpower would be ? 

To fly

 

Most challenging piece you ever made ?

A large pelican called “Ferdinand”….. he just would NOT come together.

 

Favorite swear word ? Cunt….🤫

 

Do you need an atmosphere to create ? 

I do enjoy music or an audio book while i’m in the workshop.
