Bettina Baum

What got you into making art?

Always a "Maker" as far back as I can remember ( though nothing ever came close to working with hot glass)

What inspires you?

Inspired by nature, by fleeting moments, light and shadows

Favourite smells?

Favourite smell is beeswax ( incidentally used to lubricate the glassblowing tools)

Coffee or Tea?

Coffee or tea? Water, preferably fizzy ( champagne will do)

Do you have a favourite piece of your own?

My favourite piece is often the most recent one, changing continually

Best advice received?

"Just get going. The work will follow"

Favourite colour?

All the colours in the universe

What is the connective force behind art?

That's a tough one. It's what separates art from craft. I'd say inspire Awe, let people see a different viewpoint and convey emotion (and maybe delight) de- light!

Your chosen superpower?

My superpower is my creative energy. Id love to be able to fly if I could choose one.

Most challenging piece you've ever made?

The concept and execution of a Venetian wine goblet

Favourite swear word?

Ssh...sugar ( ok, the actual swear word is in German)

Do you need an atmosphere to create?

Creativity is a muscle. You can exercise it anywhere

Favorite desert ?

In case you feel like making dessert, make it Tiramisu. Thanks
